One shirt 2 ways to keep your page pt1

So in these two  project I took an old shirt and used it t o make two different types of bookmarks. I apologize ahead of time about the picture quality my camera finally passed and i had to use my cellphone at the last minute. Here one way to use a old shirt the next one will be for tommorrow

Smell the Rose Bud

First take the shirt and cut out arectangle piece i measured the length to me 12inches. the width depends on how thick you want it.

Now cut 3 strips and stretch them out by grabbing the ends with both your hand and rotating the strip while gently pulling.  This will make the shirt pieces look like string.

grab all three shirt strings and knot the end. From here start a braid

Don't braid all the way leave at least 3 to 2 1/2 inches at the end. Glue the string together at the end of the to secure the braid

Taking one of the string end roll it towards the braid. Glue it securely.

Taking the other piece next to it wrap around the center clockwise, gluing where you think it will need it. when u get to the end tuck it under and glue. Take the last string and wrap it around counter-clockwise. Glue the same way. When your done it should look like a rose bud.

Put that to the side and take cardstock paper ,draw 1-2 leaves depends on your liking,After you color it in take fabric paint and make the leaves veins like so. Leave a couple minutes to dry it shouldn't take long.

Cut out the leaves and glue them to the back of the rose bud.

Your Done now you can enjoy your own rose while reading

Who is that eating my pages?

So here is the next edition to make DIY book marks. Today its all about card stock or cardboard. You have to be able to bend it without breaking. Think business card thin for the cardboard

So I made cookie monster into my very own page eater...lol.

Don't worry if you can't draw I tried to make it simple. I had to make this one with a pen since i couldn't find my pencils but I cleaned up the pen marks with white paint and marker.

1.First measure the lenth of 3 1/2 inches and make two dots

2. Connect the dots like so. Just think of it as a sad and happy smile. Make sure the bottom is stretched lower

3. Make two big circles for eyes.

4. Add some shaggy hair

5. Circles in the eyes for pupils. Remember his eyes are crooked.

6. Add a smiley under the eyes.

7. Make an open mouth

8. Add the fuzzy hair on top lip.

ALMOST DONE!!! All that it needs is to erase any unnessacery lines. With a black marker fill in pupils and mouth than outline it all. Color it blue.

Last step cut the picture out and the
upper lip like so.
I used a box cutter to cut this but if you want just fold and cut with scissors.

and there you go your very own cookie monster bookmark.

This outline can also be used to create Elmo too. Look how cute
